片式消聲器是阻止聲音傳播而允許氣流通過的一種器件,是消除空氣動力性噪聲的重要措施。片式消聲器主要是利用多孔吸聲材料來降低噪聲的。把吸聲材料固定在氣流通道的內壁上或按照一定方式在管道中排列,就構成了片式消聲器。當聲波進入片式消聲器時,一部分聲能在多孔材料的孔隙中摩擦而轉化成熱能耗散掉,使通過消聲器的聲波減弱。
片式消聲器對消除短、中波噪聲效果顯著,對長波噪聲的消除則不是很有效,其消聲量與消聲器的結構形式、空氣通道橫斷面的形狀與面積、氣流速度、消聲器長度,以及吸聲材料的種類、密度、厚度等因素有關,護面板材料及其型式對消聲效果也有很大影響; 護面材料可采用柔軟多孔透氣的織物,如玻璃纖維布,或穿孔板。護面用的穿孔板一般采用薄鋼板、不銹鋼板加工制成。為了發揮吸聲材料的吸聲性能,穿孔板的穿孔率應大于20%,孔徑3~10mm。
